Friendship day is a special day dedicated for people to celebrate their friends. The tradition of celebrating friendship day is something people have been observing for a very a long time. The tradition started when the World Friendship Crusade approved the celebration of friendship day on the first Sunday of August every year. Today, a lot of countries have emulated the idea of setting a day apart to celebrate friends.

Celebrating our friends is a good thing because it shows how important and valuable they are to us. Also, one of the ways through which people celebrate their friends is by buying greeting cards, others will even have their friends around to play with them and have fun

For the most part, friendship day is only celebrated in many Asian countries and then a few various countries throughout the world. However, there are a large number of countries that do not celebrate friendship day even though it is a significant day, and it brings people together. It originated in Pakistan and India.

Also though many countries in the world celebrate Friendship Day, the countries may or may not celebrate them on the same day of the year as each other. For example, Argentina celebrates Friendship Day on July 20th as does Brazil, but Bangladesh celebrates Friendship Day in August. The United States does not celebrate Friendship Day as a country. There isn’t even a holiday or celebration even closely related to it.

There are many celebrations in countries that encourage love or friendship, but they may not have an exact day set aside to celebrate just friendship. For instance, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in many countries, but it focuses more on love with couples than it does with friends. Therefore, friendship days are not celebrated globally.

There are a large number of them that do celebrate Friendship Day in some capacity. These include India, Pakistan, Peru, Paraguay, Finland, Estonia, Bangladesh, Brazil, and Argentina. Although some of these countries may not even be aware that their country celebrates Friendship Day. For example, some people believe that Friendship Day is celebrated in the United States, but it is not a recognized holiday. So, many people do not get that day off of work in the U.S.
