MRI and fMRI are two types of techniques to view images of the brain. MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. It provides a map for the brain and how the brain looks at any time. fMRI is similar to MRI, but it is used to determine how much-oxygenated blood flow changes as energy are emitted. fMRI has a downside.
When blood flow changes, it can take seconds for it to show. Due to the delay, fMRIs may not be 100% accurate. Both MRIs and fMRIs are costly and need a lot of funding to get the machines necessary to use those techniques.
