There are some differences between a Swan and a Goose. Although they both belong to the same family called Anatidae, but they have different subspecies. One of the significant differences between a swan and a goose is their appearance. Although you might be left frustrated when trying to identify the two by their physical look, this is because they look so much alike.

However, in terms of size, a swan has more weight compared to the weight of a goose. Also, if you use color as the basis of our comparison, a swan is entirely white except for some cases where you have a mixture of both white and black, but it is scarce to see an entirely black swan. Geese, on the other hand, are mostly black, brown color. In addition to their physical appearance, a swan has a longer neck compare to a goose. Finally, geese are found mostly in North America, Europe, and Asia, while swans can be found virtually in any part of the world.
