Angina is a heart condition which results from the arteries that supply blood to the heart becoming thinner because of plague, while heartburn is a condition in which stomach acid flows to the esophagus. The symptoms for both conditions seem similar, and it can be confusing.
Symptoms of angina include but are not limited to pain, discomfort, squeezing, pressure, heaviness, tightening, burning, or achy feeling in the chest or behind the breastbone, and pain can also spread to the jaw, neck, arms, shoulders, back, and even teeth. Heartburn symptoms include a burning feeling, chest pain, burning in the throat, hot and sour taste in the back of the throat, coughing or sore throat.
