Cysts and fibroids are generally experienced in the outpatient and inpatient gynecological practices. While both conditions are mostly benign, some cysts can be malignant transformations. Cysts are filled with fluid, while fibroids present as a solid mass. Cysts may be formed from epithelial tissue while fibroids thrive in areas where smooth muscle tissue is present. Fibroids are benign abnormal growth within the soft muscle tissue.
Uterine fibroids are a ubiquitous example, and most fibroids are sometimes asymptomatic; however, there are times when they can cause excessive uterine bleeding. A cyst is a gathering of fluid which is walled off due to tissue reactions. Cysts generally form because of excessive accumulation of fluid inside the skin. There are two types of cysts which include true cysts and pseudocysts.
