The camera resolution is higher which means that you can take crisper and clearer images. There are some people who are still holding on to these cameras even if there are already newer versions that are available.

The Nikon D5000 is known to be an upper entry-level DSLR when it was first released in the market. This was released in the year 2009 and it had a 12.9-megapixel format. Its features are very similar to the D90 which is also another camera produced by Nikon. The D5100 is known to be an updated version of the D5000 because this comes with 16.1 megapixels in camera resolution.

The Nikon D5000 is known to be an upper entry-level DSLR when it was first released in the market.
They both come with the APS-C sensor which is considered to be very important back then. These cameras were released years ago but there are still some people who prefer using DSLR cameras as compared to the smaller and more compact mirrorless cameras that are available right now.
