Firewall and Antivirus are both designed to serve as a protection mechanism for your system. We are at a time where systems can suddenly start malfunction as a result of different kinds of infections like malware, viruses, and spyware on your system. Although they are similar in terms of purpose, there are a lot of differences between them. A firewall is a kind of security system created to protect both systems and networks from being attacked by infections.

The firewall serves as protection for both public and private networks. Antivirus, on the other hand, is also a kind of security system designed in the form of software to protect your system being attacked by internal infections like viruses, malware that is already present in your order. It also helps in stopping viruses from gaining entrance into your system, that's why it is called Antivirus. The firewall also helps in restricting unauthorized access into the system while Antivirus is very useful for scanning, detecting, and most importantly, the removal of dangerous programs.
