Gestational hypertension and preeclampsia are two health conditions experienced by women during pregnancy period. And this does not mean they are both the same. Gestational hypertension is different from pre-eclampsia in some ways, particularly in terms of what they literally mean, what is causing them and so on. Gestational hypertension occurs in women during pregnancy period when they start having high blood pressure that is as high as 140/90mm Hg coupled with the absence of excessive protein in their urine. Pre-eclampsia, on the other hand, is also experienced by women during pregnancy period.

This occurs when a woman starts having high blood pressure together with the presence of excessive protein in her urine. The good thing is both are curable. Gestational hypertension can be cured by using anti-hypertensive drugs that won't pose any danger to the healthy functioning of the fetus inside. While pre-eclampsia can be treated by using aspirin according to the prescription of the doctor and it can also be treated by using other anti-hypertensive drugs.
