AJAX allows web pages to send data and also receive data from the server without changing the webpage. On the other hand, PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor. PHP was mainly designed for web development to power back end of applications. PHP is highly vulnerable and is prone to a high level of hacking activity. PHP was developed by Rasmus Lerdorf, and it first appeared in 1995.

AJAX is also useful in building web applications that permit the execution of other programs underground while you are still doing something on an existing webpage. PHP, on the other hand, means Hypertext processor. PHP is designed like other programming languages. It is used for web development, and it is an open source scripting language which can be put inside HTML. This can connect to the web server, and it will perform exactly it meant to do. Unlike AJAX, PHP is not too difficult to use by newcomers.
