Formulas are standard in science. Most of the time if you are in a science class and are doing math problems, it is because you are in chemistry class. There are two essential formulas, and they are empirical and molecular formulas. Whenever you reduce fractions, it is in its simplest form. That is similar to empirical formulas. They are in their simplest forms. However, it will show the type of atoms in the molecule.

It will not show the exact amount of atoms are in the molecule because it has been reduced. However, in the molecular formula, it is the opposite. It shows precisely the amount of atoms in the molecule. There has not been any reducing in this type of formula.
