Mold and fungus are two things that you rarely think are good things. Whenever you hear the word mold, especially, you think that there is something moldy in your house or food in your refrigerator. Mold and fungus are similar, but they have one main difference. Mold is a type of fungus, but fungus is not a type of mold.

Therefore, there are other fungi besides mold. However, mold makes up most of the types of fungi. That is not to say that there are not several other types of fungi. When something gets moldy, it is obvious to the eye. It will have some usually dark growth forming on the structure, whether it be a bathtub, fruit of a loaf of bread.
