Micronutrients are nutrients that we need in small quantities when compared with macronutrient. Micronutrients help to prevent diseases and also to repair damaged tissues in the body. They are not the primary source of energy in the body. They also play a vital role in producing enzymes.

Micronutrients are nutrients that we need in small quantities when compared with macronutrient.
Examples of micronutrients are vitamins, and minerals such as magnesium, iron, zinc, selenium, copper, iodine, fluoride, and so on. Macronutrients are nutrients that are required in large quantities. These nutrients are needed for energy supply, growth, and support of the body. The primary macronutrients are carbohydrate, fats, and protein.
