A noun is a word that refers to people, things, places, and ideas. A noun can be classified as an abstract noun or a concrete noun. A concrete noun refers to nouns that can be perceived through our five senses. This includes sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound. It means you can see, touch, hear, or smell something. Examples of concrete nouns are Tiger, London, Book, Mary, and so on.

There are times when people may have a hard time expressing themselves even when they want to say something. When this happens, people may be able to share their feelings with the use of abstract nouns. Abstract nouns are for those that you cannot experience with your five senses. When you use concrete nouns, these are the nouns that you can easily touch, see, feel, taste, or smell.
