Abstract and Introduction are both parts of the thesis. The abstract is known to be the summary that is written at the beginning of the thesis or the research paper. This is meant to provide specific details on what can be expected from the paper. The Introduction is different, although this is also placed in one of the beginning sections of the paper.

This will talk about the details that can be expected in more detail. You would have to talk about the reason why you decided to research the topic or make a specific topic on your thesis. This will help the readers understand your purpose or your inspiration for choosing a specific topic over all the others.
