Someone quiet does not necessarily have to be shy. Some people assume that quiet people are naturally shy people, but there are instances when extroverted people can also become peaceful. This can mean that they are going through something, or they are rooted in thought. People can be shy, which means that they find it hard to be in social situations. They find it hard to approach people and to talk to them.

People can be shy, but the moment that they are with people that they are comfortable with, they can be extremely noisy and loud. These two are not the same, and having one trait does not mean that you will have both.
