Solid and liquid are both states of matter, where along with gas, they occupy space. At first glance, it can be easily noticed that stable has a definite shape while liquid has none. Liquid only follows the shape of its sturdy container. The atoms of solids are closer with each other that help in forming their way while the liquids’ particles are slightly farther from each other.

The close bond of the particles in solids makes them be easily compressed than liquids. You cannot use solids as solvents as they cannot dissolve a substance, unlike liquids. Solutes are usually solids as they can quickly be terminated by the right amount and type of cash.
