Feelings and sentiment are words which talk about how human beings react and express their emotions. Emotion simply means a person's internal state of being and involuntary physiological response to an object or a situation, based on or tied to physical state and sensory data. Feelings and sentiment are usually used interchangeably, probably due to the fact that they are both synonymous in some contexts. Feelings and sentiment, however, differ in some ways. The seemingly differences between them can be expressed in terms of their usage and the exact meaning for each of the two words. Feelings have to do with someone's level of emotional sensitivity.

What you feel and how you are feeling will determine what your emotional response will be. Sentiment, on the other hand, is a kind of feeling one has towards something. That feeling can alter or influence your judgement about something. This is not as strong as what feelings entail. By being sentimental, You can decide you defend a notorious criminal probably because you love him.
