It can be confusing to look at different medical equipment and try to guess how they can be different from each other. Only those who know what to do during a cardiac emergency will know the difference between the two. AED means Automated External Defibrillator. This can be used even by non-medical personnel so that they will have the ability to save someone’s life.

This comes with an alert that will tell people when they should administer the shock. The manual defibrillator can only be used by people who are aware of the process that they should do to revive people who have undergone cardiac arrest. They may need to do counting before they know when the shock should be administered.

There is no real difference between AED and a Defibrillator. Both machines are used in administering electrical shock to the heart of a person experiencing heart-related problems. People with this type of health condition are prone to situations in which their hearts will cease to function properly. At this point, AED or a defibrillator is needed to send electrical shocks to the heart in order to start working perfectly. AED means Automated External Defibrillator, which means, it is an example of different types of all known defibrillator.

AED is used for people who are experiencing heart problems like cardiac arrest and others, to send electrical shocks to the heart. AED, unlike another defibrillator, can be handled non-medical professional in times of emergency. There are other types of defibrillator which can work perfectly like AED. They include, internal and external manual defibrillator, semi-automated external defibrillator. Invariably, AED is just a type of defibrillator.
