Flat Panel Display is the term used to describe the new design of television that has been introduced to the market. This has made the usual CRT screens obsolete. People want to have the flat panel displays right at their own homes. LCD or Liquid Crystal Display is just one of the flat panel displays that you can find right now. Some people choose this because this is one of the first models that became available.

Over the past years, people have started to use flat panel displays made with LED more because the energy consumption is far less than the LCD. Take note that a lot of gadgets have also been made with LCD before, but they are usually upgraded depending on the model.

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display, it is one of the most popular displays use to provider better quality display on large devices. LCD is a type of flat panel display. It works by using light modulating properties seen in liquid crystals.

Flat panel display is a display device that uses thin panel instead of using CRT which means Cathode Ray Tube design for display. Flat panel display is a lot thinner and lighter than the traditional cathode ray tube on devices.

LCD, which means Liquid Crystal Display, is an example of a flat panel display. There are other examples of flat panel displays. The differences between LCD and Flat panel will be discussed in relation to other flat panel displays available. Plasma, LED, OLED are also examples of flat panel. LCD screens are very popular because they consume less energy, they are very thin when compared with other flat panel screens. LCD, as popular as it is, cannot be used for displays that are too big, but that does not mean you cannot get LCD of big sizes, just that they have higher prices compared to other flat panel screens of the same size.
