A lot of people think that cabbage and lettuce are the same, but actually, these are different from each other. They are both leafy greens, but in terms of appearance, they do have some differences. Cabbage has more calories as compared to lettuce.

The cabbage has almost twice the amount of calories that salad has, which explains why people usually choose lettuce over cabbage when they are trying to go on a diet. Cabbage is also tougher to chew while lettuce will have a little bit more water in it. Cabbage can usually be purchased in a bulb while a lot of salad can look like they are wrapped around each other.

Cabbage and lettuce are vegetables with a lot of nutritional benefits. However, there are differences between cabbage and lettuce. The two leafy vegetables are not from the same family. Cabbage belongs to the cruciferae family and it can also be traced to Brassicaceae family, while lettuce is from Asteraceae family. Cabbage has a short stem and the leaves around it are naturally arranged to form what looks like a bulb. Like most vegetables, cabbage is also green in color except for some cases.
