Visa and maestro are both cards that are acceptable and used throughout the whole world. These cards can be used for cashless transactions, whereby you move around with your money ‘in a card’ without even having anything in your pocket to make payment. In most organizations, shops, mall, websites, etc., the visa is more acceptable than the maestro. The visa card is more acceptable internationally than the maestro card. The visa cards offer more protection than the maestro card.
With the use of a visa card, when a customer is being offered a bad or failed goods and services, he can make a re-order for better products or services. This is actually because visa cards come with chargeback right, but maestro does not have chargeback right. Maestro cards are designed in replacement for checks. Thus, they do not offer protection for bad or failed goods or services. Visa adopted its name in 1976, but it has been since 1958.
Visa and Maestro are two different cards. Out of the two, VIsa is considered to be the more accepted card probably because it has more international reach. It will help if you have a Visa credit card and you love to travel to different places, and if you have Maestro, you can check the country first if they accept Maestro cards.
If not, you may always bring cash with you as this is taken almost everywhere. Make sure that you will exchange it to the country’s local currency so you will not encounter further issues about this. If you do not have a Visa, you may also have MasterCard. This is also accepted in more countries as compared to Maestro.
