Weed and pot are two different names that are used to refer to the marijuana drug. They are both gotten from the female cannabis Sativa plant. Weed is gotten from the dried flowering top. Weed and pot are seen as generic terms, plus pot is also said to be slang. The two can be used for spiritual, recreational, and medicinal purposes, while pot can also be used as a psychoactive drug. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the major compound found in weed and pot.
