XD and SD cards are media storage devices and a lot of devices especially in digital cameras are using them to store different items or data. The main differences between SD and XD card are their capacity and speed. The truth about the two cards is that, SD memory cards have higher storage capacity than XD memory cards and SD cards are faster than XD cards.

Another thing is that, SD cards have the maximum storage capacity of 32GB while XD cards have a maximum storage capacity of 2GB. With this, any camera using SD card will be able to shoot distant image and high quality photos because it has a faster speed than XD cards. If we decide not to consider the micro and mini SD cards, that means XD cards are smaller in size than SD cards. SD cards are also cheaper to buy and they have a feature called wear leveling, a feature that is absent in XD cards.
