Do people still realize the true meaning of Memorial Day in the US?

I believe that people still realize the meaning of Memorial Day. This day is celebrated on the last Monday in the month of May. This day is a national holiday, and most of the country is off from their job on this day. It is not just a day off, and most realize that. Instead, it is a day to celebrate those who have died serving in the military for the freedom of others.

Local areas host parades and celebrations for those who have died. Many cemeteries place flags on the graves of those who have passed on. Throughout the cookouts and day spent at the beach, many minds think about those who we have lost at war.

The true meaning of Memorial Day in the United States can not be easily forgotten because of its significance to the families of those who lost loved ones in the military during the Civil War and those soldiers who lost their lives while serving in the military. Memorial Day is a federal holiday set apart to honor and celebrate the fallen soldiers who once served in the military. It is usually observed on the last Monday in May of every year.

The true meaning of Memorial day can't be easily forgotten because it is a special day in the US and there are a lot of activities people engage in to mark the day. A lot of people celebrate the day by engaging in parades, some would visit the cemetery to decorate the graveyard of their loved ones who died while serving in the military. However, Memorial Day might be losing its meaning in some people because Memorial Day coincides with the Uniform Monday Holiday in the United States.
