Pneumonia refers to lung inflammation that can arise due to chemical injury, infection by viruses, bacteria, fungi, or aspiration of foodstuffs into the lungs. This inflammation can lead to high fever with shivering, shaking, chills, severe cough, loss of appetite, and weight. It is a bacterial, viral, or fungal infection in one or both lungs. It causes inflammation of the alveoli.
