JavaScript and Jscript are different languages with few similarities. JavaScript is a scripting language developed by Netscape communication, which is commonly used in a web browser while JScript was named by Microsoft, it is also a scripting language. JavaScript first appeared on 4 December 1995.

The main difference between these two is the additional commands that Jscript gives ActiveX. JScript supports online content for WWW, while JavaScript does not support active content creation. JavaScript runs its code in a web browser while Jscript runs in the Microsoft browser.

Jscript is not a popular language because of its limited internet explorer, while JavaScript is popular because it can be executed in any browser. JavaScript cannot access web browser objects while Jscript code run in the Microsoft browser.

This can only be used for applications and programs that are powered by Microsoft. JavaScript can be used by different people when they want to do some codes.
