The best pair of terms that describes light waves traveling from the sun to earth are electromagnetic and transverse waves, this is due to the fact that electromagnetic wave is waves created because of the shakings between an electric and a magnetic field.

A light wave is an instance of electromagnetic and transverse waves. It has a possibility of journeying in space and in whatever passage, unlike mechanical waves, which makes use of a passage to transmit. These waves are an amalgamation of magnetic and electric fields. Both the electric field and the magnetic field fluctuate opposite one another to the bearing of the circulating wave (an attribute of the transverse wave).

In addition, the transverse wave is a moving wave whose alternations are vertical to the bearing path of propagation. For light where the alternations are the magnetic and electric fields, which indicate at accurate angles to the perfect light rays that explain the bearing of propagation.
