Down Syndrome is probably one of the more common disorders seen in the U.S. and in the world. In the U.S., one baby is born out of seven hundred with Down Syndrome. There is a test that is given to the pregnant mothers to determine whether they will give birth to a child with Down Syndrome.
However, of the five to seven hundred of the babies that will test positive for Down Syndrome, there is about five percent of them that will actually not have Down Syndrome because the test was done in error or produced a false result. Down Syndrome is actually common to an extent in the United States. This is compared to the other disorders that babies get.
