The correct answer to this question is TANGENT. Tangent shortened as “tan" is one of the six functions of trigonometry.
The formulary for calculating tangent is:
Tangent (tan) = Opposite/ Adjacent
The hypotenuse is the longest side
The “opposite” side is opposite to the angle
The “adjacent side" is the side that is adjacent to the angle. Always next to the angle.
Tangent can also be defined as
Tan x = sin x/cos x
Sin x represents the Sine function, and cost x represents the Cosine function. The other three functions in trigonometry are Cotangent, Secant, and Cosecant. The formula for calculating these functions are listed below
Cot A = 1/(tan A)
Sec A = 1/(cos A) and
Csc A = 1/(sin A)
