Spherical polygon refers to a closed geometry figure that is formed on the surface of a sphere by arcs of three or more great circles. It represents the generalization of the spherical triangle.

In closed spherical geometry, the angles are defined between the great circles, and spherical trigonometry can be derived from it.

Spherical trigonometry is a branch of spherical geometry. Spherical trigonometry has originated from Greek mathematics.

It deals with the relationship between angles and sides. Spherical trigonometry is greatly used in calculations in an earth's surface, space navigation, and astronomy.
