Claustrophobia is an anxiety disorder which usually results to an irrational and intense fear of enclosed spaces or fear of being put into a small place where there is no escape route. This condition can be very dangerous unless it is upon very early. And the good news is claustrophobia can be treated. Though many people try to avoid situation that might trigger the panic, but this is not the right Way to overcome claustrophobia, this method is counter-productive because instead of helping you to overcome claustrophobia, it will be reinforcing it.

Claustrophobia can be treated through psychotherapy method, like cognitive behavioral therapy. This method is the most treatment for claustrophobia and will assist an individual in defeating and dealing with triggers and fear. Medication can also be used together with psychotherapy method in treating claustrophobia, example is psychotropic medication, though this promises only a short term relief unlike psychotherapy method.
