Oil-rich countries can get away with murder. Why shouldn't they be able to? That doesn't make it right, but it still is true. They have the power since they have the coveted goods. It has been that way throughout history and will never change. If you have what others need and want, you have significant power and control. Having oil is the same as anything else, like when China had silk or when sugar was the coveted commodity.

That's just how the world works. When you have something that others want, you have the power to control the commodity and the people. Some use that power for good, and some use it for evil. That's the way of the world.
