A criminal lawyer is quite different from a divorce lawyer. While the former is trained to handle case for people who have been accused for committing a crime whether state or federal, the latter is trained to handle cases relating to family dispute, this type of lawyers are civil lawyers, they are not to defend a criminal in the court of law because they are meant to handle cases of dispute between different parties in the family. Divorce lawyer attends to cases on divorce.
A criminal lawyer cannot effectively act or perform like how a trained divorce lawyer would perform. They attend to criminal related cases. The question here is why would you want a criminal lawyer to act in place of a divorce lawyer, the decision might be costly. This is because they are not trained to handle that kind of a case
