The overwhelming works of the brain throughout the day still continue while you sleep but this time around its work is not as strong as it is in the day. Our brain doesn't sleep even when we sleep, though this might be contrary to what you may think. If our brain ever gets to sleep for once, I'm afraid the amount of memories that will be lost.

Although, Sleep is important and essential for proper functioning of the brain. The following are what your brain does while you sleep.

- Your brain preserves important memories especially those are more emotional

- Your brain helps to lock in what you learnt during the day. It restores information about things you do during the day

- It also helps you from acting out your dreams

-lastly on this, your brain helps to clear out trash. What I mean by this is that it acts like a vacuum cleaner to clear away waste products and this is cerebral fluid that does this is released more when you sleep
