How dangerous is Detroit to live in?

If you are careful and sensible, Detroit need not prove dangerous for you. Downtown Detroit and Greektown is fine, just avoid Corktown to be certain you have no bad experiences.

Use public transport such as the the People Mover elevated rail, and QLine street car. Don't go down narrow roads or residential blocks in Corktown if you can avoid it, and there's no reason you need to go there anyway.
