Why has Brad Pitt been banned from China?

Brad Pitt has been banned from China. When I first heard that, I was sure it was a rumor. But, it is true. Or, at least it was. For over 15 years, the actor could not go into the country after he starred in the movie, "Seven Years in Tibet". It seems that China was insulted by the movie because it depicts the harsh rule China had over Tibet. Director Jean-Jacques Annaud was banned as well and they were supposed to be banned for life but Pitt has been back in the country. Many celebrities have been banned from China including Lady Gaga and Miley Cirus.

Reasons vary but it all boils down to the fact they did something that did not please the government. Such is life in China though. It doesn't seem to have phased Pitt though. He does his own thing which now includes going back to China where he was banned.
