Personification is one of the figures of speech that people use whenever they would like to describe something extreme that people may not understand immediately. In order for people to understand the emotion that is being conveyed, the characteristic will be compared to something that is considered non-human.

There are also times when the characteristic of a person is described to something that is abstract. There are also instances when animals are being compared to something that persons are known to do. If you would read different literary pieces, it is very likely that you will come across sentences that show this type of figure of speech.
