ROFL is the acronym for Rolling On Floor Laughing. It has the same meaning as other acronyms like LOL (laugh out loud) and LMAO ( Laughing My Ass Off). ROFL is used mostly when people are chatting with their friends on messaging apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, telegram, etc. Have you ever chatted with a friend who seemed very funny, and while the chat was going on, he sent a message that you found very funny to the point that you couldn't control yourself?

If yes, then you could have simply typed something like ROFL. This would have hinted the person that you found what was sent very funny. Acronyms like ROFL are saving us from going through the rigor of typing too much of words. With ROFL, you have been able to tell someone that you got cracked up by their message. However, we shouldn't get used to typing in this way all the time.

ROFL usually means Rolling on the Floor, Laughing. People normally use this when they think that something is so funny that they can roll on the Floor and continue to laugh out loud. There are instances when this may occur in real life, although some people would just use this to show that they appreciate the joke that they have heard or the meme that was sent to them. It does not mean that they are actually doing this in actual.

Some say that they would also use this as a substitute for LMAO or Laughing My Ass Off. The meme for this is usually different. It would show a person laughing while sitting down or standing up in contrast to ROFL, which means that the person is on the Floor.

If you are an ardent social media user, chances are you would have come in contact with a lot of internet slangs, with luck, you were able to interpret some of them and some seemed unclear to you. An example of those internet slangs is ROFL which means Rolling On Floor, Laughing. It is an extreme form of internet slangs like 'Lol' which means laughing out loud.

This acronym is common among people who love chatting on messaging apps with their friends. We do have some friends that are really good in saying some silly things that you wouldn't help but burst into laughter, at this moment, the best thing to type to show you really got cracked up with their jokes is to type ROFL. The use of ROFL does not literally mean you are right on the floor laughing but to show you actually laughed uncontrollably.

The full form of ROFL is rolling on the floor laughing. One of the things that used to be fun with using Yahoo Messenger before was the use of emojis before they were popular. It was fun to use at that time because people were able to express themselves more.

As time passed by, more and more gadgets and applications made it possible to use different emojis. This is normally used when you find something so funny so that you cannot contain how funny everything is. This normally happens when you are talking with your friends or when you have a private joke with your loved one. It can be enough to make you smile.

The acronym ROFL is another example of texting language. It is a more extreme form of lol - laugh out loud - and stands for rolling on the floor laughing.

It is quicker than saying in response to a joke or funny anecdote, "hilarious", but this is what it signifies. It is part of the whole texting jargon vocabulary.
