Russia is a country which has had several name changes in the past due to their government and some other events that occurred in their past. In 1991 after Reagan’s almost decade long presidency, the Soviet Union dissolved. It became known as the USSR which stood for the Republics of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

This allowed this country to have its freedom from the government. At that time, Mikhail Gorbachev resigned from his position as the leader. Reagan was most likely involved in this due to his involvement with the Soviet Union and trying to get Gorbachev to change his ways including his military, gaining arms and their government. It all seemed to revolve around the Soviet’s communistic government.
