Muffin cannot be a nickname. Before Android versions became only numerical numbers, these phones were named after popular desserts. Before Android 10, many other versions had dessert names, including éclair, ice cream sandwich, apple pie, gingerbread, Oreo, doughnut, and jelly- bean.

Instead of M, they used Marshmallow, which is why muffin could not be a nickname for Android M. Android Marshmallow is the sixth major version of the Android operating system, thirteenth installment of Android. It was first released by beta build on May 28th, 2015. It was officially released on October 5th, 2015.

The primary purpose of Marshmallow is to enhance the overall user experience of the one that came before it, called lollipop. It established new permissions architecture, new API’s for contextual assistants to deliver context-sensitive search results. The release was internally code-named macadamia nut cookie.

Since 2008 when Google started rolling out its different versions of Android Operating System, the only option here that is not a nickname of a version of Andriod is Muffin. The first version of the Android Operating System to be released was Android 1.0 G1 in 2008.

Cupcake was the first major update done and was released in 2009. Different features like a copy-and-paste function, video recording, widgets for the home screen were added as parts of the update. Gingerbread was released in 2011 and came as the nickname for Android version 2.3.

Phones released with this Android Os were able to use their front cameras for video calling, and they could also connect with other devices around. Honeycomb was released as the first major update for tablets and came as the nickname for Android version 3.0. Major added features of this Os were video chatting with Google Talk, 3D graphics support, etc.

There are many nicknames for the individual android versions; however, any nickname that is advertised for polling is never used for the operating system.

It has to be a surprise when the new phone is introduced, and each version is an improvement on the one before.

• All of the names are associated with sweet items

• Each version coordinates with a letter of the alphabet.

• Specific versions were Apple Pie, Donut, Jelly Bean, and Marshmallow

• Macadamia Nut Cookie was an in house nickname but was not used

• They are up to the letter N now

• A poll was released, including Nut Brittle, Nachos, Noodles, and Nougat.

• The above will not be used

• It is rumored that there is an outcry for Nutella, which is still in the running.

The correct answer to this question is the Muffin. Before Android versions got the numerical names that they have today, the versions were named after popular desserts. The first Android name is Cupcake. Before Android 10, many other versions had dessert names include Eclair, Donut, Ice Cream Sandwich, Pie, and Oreo. As they went on, each new dessert name came in alphabetical order.

For M, they used Marshmallow, which is one reason why Muffin could not be used. Another reason it could not be used is that once they released the version Pie, the stopped the use of dessert names so that confusion would not ensue.
