Although Dell thought about acquiring Allienware since 2002. they didn't actually finalize the deal until March 22, 2006. The new subsidiary now has the control over Allienware's marketing and design. Allienware enjoys more sells, lower overhead, a larger market and many other perks. In fact, the company went from being sold in 6 countries to being sold in over 35 countries.

Allienware is actually inspired by the X-files, a television series. The notebooks, laptops, gaming consoles, and desktops became very popular. After Dell make the deal, there were changes made such as the elimination of desktop versions. The gameware was meshed with Dell's gameware and are branded as one now. Dell seems to have made a great decision as far as purchasing the company and Allienware made a great decision to let them.
