How many specialised doctors are there in the world?

Currently, there are around 15 million doctors in the world. While this number might seem staggering, it is actually very low. There are studies going around that say that there is a deficit of 5 million doctors. Many are not completing their medical degrees, but this puts the world in a bind.

Doctors are very much needed, and as the number of those completing medical degrees continues to fall, the number of qualified doctors will continue to suffer.
