Why are goats sacrificed in Hinduism?

Hinduism is primarily practiced in India. It is common in India for them to not eat cow meat. This is because of their religion, Hinduism. Eating the meat from cows is forbidden. Therefore, they refrain from cooking cow meat. Also, it is known that people in India especially those who practice Hinduism regard the cow as sacred. This is because they believe that their ancestors are brought back into cows.

However, the same can’t be said of goats. So, it is not against their believes to kill goats. As a matter of fact, they usually will sacrifice goats during celebrations and festivals. It is common practice to sacrifice a goat for the goddess and that is what they do in order to keep with their religion and celebrations.
