It is difficult to determine the number of pets that are abused each year because pets can’t talk. Only humans can analyze and monitor to see if pets are abused. However, of those that are discovered to be abused, the number probably ranks in the hundreds of thousands. Many pets are neglected which falls under the category of abuse. They get tied up and left on the side of the road.
Also, when a person gets angry, they may take it out on their pet. Pets are very defenseless and they have nowhere to go. It is common unfortunately to injure their pets or neglect them when times get tough, but they must pay the consequences for it. Some of the owners go to jail.
