Is liquor banned in Egypt?

It is unusual to say that Egypt has banned alcohol since it is known for brewing it. It has actually been brewing alcohol for thousands of years. However, due to their religion in the past, alcohol was forbidden.

Today, Egyptians can buy alcohol, but they seem to do it secretly. This is because it is a rule that seems not to be enforced. At least, it is not strictly enforced. It would probably be best not to make it known to the public when buying alcohol.

Also, it seems that things may be changing. Islam was once the main religion in Egypt which did not like alcohol consumption. However, over time more people are changing to Christianity. Therefore, it seems like the rules may be changing in the future for alcohol.
