Yes, there is a hockey team for women. In fact, many countries like the United States, India, China and Canada, have national teams and professional leagues for female hockey games.
The women’s hockey tournament was approved as an Olympic event in July 1992 and it was first held at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan and since then, the female hockey has grown exponentially.
The women hockey team is similar to the arrangement seen in the men’s hockey teams. There are 11 players on a team of hockey players. It is made up of a goal keeper, defenders, midfielders and forwards as it is in the men’s tournaments.
