There are a number of ways to prevent hockey infuries which is good because hockey is one of the most dangerous sports there is. When a hockey player falls, he falls on hard ice. Furthermore, it's a rough sport and getting hurt seems to be part of the game. But, it doesn't have to be. One of the most important things that can be done as a preventative measure is to stretch before and after the game.

Stretching before and after practices is great too. In addition, wearing the maximum of padding and protection allowed is very helpful. Foortball players stretch and that's a physically tough game as well so it doesn't make the player any less a hero. Staying is shape and having good defense is optimal. Getting rough and getting hjurt while playing soccer will most likely happen but in order to keep it at a minimal, putting prevention is place is a must.

The common hockey injuries that occur are wrist, elbow, shoulder, back, hip, knee, and head injuries. However, because of the nature of play, there are only ways to prevent a few of these injuries. Wrist injuries can be prevented by players simply bracing themselves against boards with their forearms instead of their hands. Elbow injuries can be prevented by wearing elbow pads that cushion against blows. These pads should fit comfortably and have an opening for the elbow, soft padding, and a plastic outer shell.

Back injuries can be avoided through strength training of the back and abdominal muscles and through stretching the hip flexors. Hip injuries can be prevented by wearing hockey pants with reinforced padding in vulnerable areas for protection. Other injuries that might occur including bruises, muscle strains, ligament tears, and cuts and can be prevented through pre-screenings to uncover deficiencies. Players can participate in conditioning programs to strengthen their bodies. Wear protective gear that is well-fitting and in good condition, and when playing, play by the rules.
