Where was Albert Einstein born?

Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany, March 14, 1879. His father and uncle had an engineering business there but when they lost an important contract, went to Italy for a few years leaving Einstein at a relative's boarding house in Munich were he went to school.

He left early to avoid military call-up and joined his family in Italy, thereafter gaining a preuniversity eduation in Switzerland.
