Generally speaking, those who exercise physically AND mentally have better, that is more comfortable, later years. A large scale study did find that those who were long-lived had exercised and engaged in mental activity to a much greater extent than those who suffered multiple illnesses in late life and died earlier.
The Japanese on a small island who are exceptionally long lived are still cycling and sweeping their yards at 100 years of age. No-pne can predict when death will come, but you can increase your odds by keeping well exercised.
