Antarctica is unarguably the coldest continent in the world. The revelation of this fact suggests that the population of people living in it cannot be compared with that we have in other continents of the world. Antarctica is the least populated continent of all the continents in the planet earth. It has a population of people which ranges from 1000 to 4000. The temperature of Antarctica during summer is usually around -10°C.

People travel to Antarctica during the summer because the effect of the temperature during summer is still minimal compared to what you have during winter. The population of Antarctica during summer goes up to 4000, and during winter, the population goes down to about 1000. This is understandable because the effect of the temperature during winter is usually at its peak. People travel to Antarctica for scientific purposes, and this gives an explanation for different research stations in Antarctica.

Since there are no permanent residents in Antarctica, it is difficult to tell the exact population in Antarctica.

Antarctica contains research stations and camps. The population varies based on the season of the year.

In summer, the population grows up to 5000, and in winter, the population is approximately 1000. Most of the people that remain in winter are scientists that stay back for research purposes.

Countries such as Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States are the countries that have over 100 people in Antarctica.

Scientists and individuals groups from the United States have the highest population in Antarctica.

In the summer, the population of Antarctica rises to around 4.500 and there are other people in the surrounding waters mostly in support of the summer residents. In winter, only the most ardent scientists remain in their research stations - there is no other habitation - and then there may not be more than 1.000 in total.

It's the kind of remote splendour with penguin life to study as well as any ongoing research you may be involed in on your station, but there are no shops, places of entertainment, or anything otherwise to maintain you and there's no winter transport either, so you're stuck once the summer ends.
